CentralVa.Net - Webmail Changes!

If you are a webmail user, you will find that we have migrated from Horde to Twig.  Though your username and password remain the same, the interface has changed.

When you login, you will be presented with a listing of your most recent emails.  If you do not see all of your email here, click the Mail (envelope) link at the top of the page to review your entire inbox.

You will find a great deal of tips and tricks for using this new webmail software via the Help (question mark) link at the top of the page.

This webmail offers the following advantages:

• Ability to store contacts in an address book
• Ability to check your local weather and forecast
• Ability to create and manage contact groups

Spyware & Adware, oh my!

Spyware & Adware is problem.  Compared to Viruses, that can often render a system almost unusable, these programs are often installed when visiting web sites or by the user themself.  They may be seemingly innocent or official popup screens, such as a notice that your system is running slow, do you wish to correct it. Often, once loaded, a piece of spyware may load many other spyware programs as well. Symptoms are:

• inability to access some web sites or redirected to other web sites
  

• excessive popup ads
   

• unusual slowness, particularly when on the Internet.

Clogged MAILBOX! Sometimes your mailbox will become clogged and won't download all your messages because a large email is 'clogging' it up! Go to WEBMAIL (upper right corner) and log on, download your email messages and then go back to your regular program. This should remedy your problem!

EMAIL for domain owners: If you receive mail through your domain (i.e., username@yourdomain.com) and have access to the Internet when you are out of town, you can log on to http://www.mail2web.com and receive your email. If your company uses Microsoft Exchange Server, you will require special configuration to receive mail.
